Q. I was stunned to discover that my new/preowned car doesn’t have a spare tire. Was I ripped off?
A. Not really. About a third of new cars today do not come with a spare tire, though they may be equipped with a compressor and sealant kit to temporarily fix a flat tire. Some cars without spares come with “run-flat” tires, which are designed to operate for a limited distance after losing air from a typical puncture.
Carmakers are skipping the spare because of regulatory pressure to squeeze more miles out of every gallon of fuel: Ditching the 40 or 50 pounds that a tire and jack usually add to a car’s weight helps to increase fuel economy slightly.
The problem is that a sealant kit won’t help drivers if a tire’s sidewall gets sliced [...]
Have you ever gone to a dealer and ask them if the car has a clean Carfax report. They tell you yes and you buy the car never suspecting anything. There is a huge problem with just seeing the carfax report. Some of these cars have been smashed, they will be bought buy a dealer, fixed and resold to YOU. The problem is you are never told about the accident, just that it has a clean report.

So, you might think that I am against buying new cars, right?
Actually, I have nothing against new cars. Quite the opposite is true: without new cars being sold I would never have access to used cars.

He mentioned to me that he was going to the local Audi dealer that coming weekend to begin the search process. He knew I sold late-model vehicles but has never seen me carry a high-end Audi. What he didn’t know is that I have easy access to virtually anything out there.
Hey, I Can Get You That Car
After my appointment ended is when the real work for me began. I explained to him that we can locate the 2012 Audi Q5 he wanted to buy. He had a color choice and mileage parameters in mind and left us an advance deposit and a time frame to get this vehicle for him. I am very happy to say we did [...]
